Margot and the Nuclear So and So's, 'Shannon' -- Video Premiere

'Rot Gut, Domestic' is the fifth full-length to be released by Indianapolis' Margot and the Nuclear So and So's. Over the course of their last several albums, the band has moved from lushly orchestrated indie pop to feral rock and, most recently, the So and So's have dialed back on the distortion pedal for a grumbling sound that shuffles with urgency and bubbles with melody.

'Shannon' is the smoldering second single off of 'Rot Gut, Domestic,' and the video captures that vibe pretty completely. The clip begins with a man's voice asking "Am I dead?" to which a woman simply answers, "Yes, you should let go now."

"Some really nice boys from Chicago's 'Bailout' film company came over to my apartment one night and we talked over beers about making a sort of lost-children-based cult video," singer and guitarist Richard Edwards tells Spinner. "They went off and brought this back. The kids in it are quite scary, as is the fire. It sufficiently creeps up an already creepy song."

The video is centered around what looks to be some sort of pagan burial ritual. Check it out!
