FRIDAY, MARCH 23
HOST: JEREMY GREENSPAN OF JUNIOR BOYS & MALCOLM LEVY OF NEWFORMS FESTIVAL
I was a big fan of the Ford & Lopatin album. Joel Ford played me some of his stuff as Airbird, and I thought it was a perfect opportunity to debut something, that will undoubtedly getting huge attention all over the place, at CMW. - J.G.
I've know Jason a long time. He has for a long time been a synth nerds' 'synth nerd'...so to speak. I really wanted this entire show to focus on Analog methods of making electronic music, and Jason is leading the charge these days, especially with his "I Dream of Wires" documentary project. - J.G.
I have watched Graham working on a multitude of different sounds as both Grahmzilla with Thunderheist, as well as his new moniker Nautiluss over the past few years. With his debut as Nautiluss coming out on Turbo this year, it was a great opportunity to showcase his movements into live performance. - M.L.
Orphx have long been leaders of the electronic music scene in Hamilton. And they have started making big waves in Europe. In a few weeks they are going over to Berlin for a coveted live slot at Berghain. For the live show, I expect them to bring their massive arsenal of Modular Synthesizers. - J.G.
Some Junior Boys fans will recognize Huren as our old touring drummer. He has been making electronic music for 20 years. His tracks for plus 8 records are considered seminal moments in the development of techno. When we were growing up, he was one of the guys we most admired and looked up to. plus his current live show is terrifying....DO NOT MISS IT. - J.G.
Another Modular Synth fanatic. Borys is hugely knowledgeable and can simply do stuff with analog equipment that most electronic musicians simply can't pull off. A show for real audiophiles. - M.L.
