Lana Del Rey performed on "American Idol" last night (it was actually recorded last week, as Ms. Del Rey was in Germany for the Echo Awards when this aired). She did "Video Games," with strings. It was pretty good. Think what you will. Video below.

I loved it. She's so amazing and beautiful and has such a unique voice. She's just dripping with talent and I cannot wait for her next album!!

Not to mention the fact that her songs are really mellow and full of emotion, plus the lyrics are just beautiful. So much better than the boppin' in da club sleepin' wit muh hoezz songs permeating the airwaves.

Video Games, Blue Jeans, both seem to be lifeless songs. I don't know what a "break out" star is, but this isn't what would think it meant.
