The 34-year-old McCartney admits that he has spoken with Dhani Harrison and Sean Lennon about creating their own rock outfit. However, Ringo Starr's offspring may take a bit more coaxing.
"I don't think it's something that Zak [Starkey] wants to do," James McCartney told the BBC. "Maybe Jason [another of Starr's sons and also drummer] would want to do it. I'd be up for it. Sean seemed to be into it, Dhani seemed to be into it. I'd be happy to do it."

James McCartney got a late start in music, releasing two EPs, Available Light and Close at Hand, since 2010. The other Beatle dynasties have been churning out records for much longer. Sean Lennon is currently recording as the Ghost of a Saber Tooth Tiger, while Starkey continues working with the Who. Harrison fronts the rock band thenewno2.
When asked if he thought the "reunion" was actually possible, McCartney responded, "Yeah, hopefully, naturally. I don't know, you'd have to wait and see. The will of God, nature's support, I guess. So yeah, maybe."
We'll take that as an unequivocal yes! If the sons of the Beatles actually do form a band, what should their name be? Hit us up on Twitter at @Spinner, #sonsofbeatles to give us your name ideas.

Zak is as putrid looking as his old man. Whenever I watched the beatles on TV or videos of them, I could never look at Ringo, who looked like an ugly old mole beating on the drums.

Paul was a user as well but he was the only one who was able to manage it. The other three were basically drug addicts during the most of the 70's.

What stupid remark you've made. Alot of factors went into them breaking up, check your facts. Paul was the one who took on the money part and didnt want to do it any more. They all wanted different things, hell they'd done it all before anybody. Drugs, they ALL handled it all.
Absolutely, and they did it rather well. Still a Beatle fan and always will be and would welcome music from their children. Can't wait to see if it happens.

They all went their separate ways and some were quite successful. As for being spoiled kids, you would be too if you had grown up in that atmosphere. Most everyone in the 70's used drugs but not drug addicts. I hope these guys make it. Would be fun to see.

April 10 2012 at 9:41 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyUnless there is a rift between Sean and Julian I think Julian may could be persuaded to join once everything is worked out. Maybe he needs a lot of persuasion. Let's do it people. For all the Beatle fans still out there.

This will be interesting if it happens.
