It seems safe to say that the world generally agrees that the new Google glasses (aka the Google Goggles) will make you look hella stupid (though nobody can call you four-eyes). The company's Project Glass advertisement gives new meaning to rec specs and showcases some pretty sweet technology: Subway updates, GPS directions and video-chatting capabilities to name several of the radvancements (radical advancements.)
However, aside from the horrendous eating noises, there was one thing about the commercial that stood out: That song! The tune, which runs for almost the entirety of the 2:30 spot, is called "Lovers' Carvings" and is delivered to your earballs courtesy of a British producer and electronic artist named Stephen Wilkinson. Wilkinson, who records under the moniker Bibio, has been releasing albums since 2005's fi.
"Lovers' Carvings" appears on the LP Ambivalence Avenue, which was released in 2009 and is one of Wilkinson's more low-key offerings. Despite being around for a while, it was re-released as a single in 2011 and it's nice to see such a beautiful song get the love it deserves. So what are you waiting for? Whip out your uke and learn how to play this song!
