The 49-year-old woman suffered cardiac arrest in the Mojo Stage tent of the Byron Bay Bluesfest, and while paramedics rushed to resuscitate her, their efforts were unsuccessful.
As a result, the Creedence Clearwater Revival singer took the stage 20 minutes late, though he still treated fans to a full two-hour set.
"It has really hit everybody hard," said Brendan Meek, the festival's venue manager, "but she was at a place she loved. She came to Bluesfest every year."
