Norwegian space disco pioneer Lindstrøm released his fourth LP, 'Six Cups Of Rebel,' on Feb. 7, veering from the cosmic disco we've come to expect in favor of prog and psych rock.
True to his eclectic tastes, Lindstrøm put together a selection of his favorite songs for a night drive, running the gamut from Swedish metal, prog rock to rare groove and ... The Cars.
'Drive'
The Cars
"An obvious choice. First song that popped into my mind ... After a long night working late at studio on my way home in the darkness, the local radio station always plays this song."
'Do It / Tribulation'
Aphrodite's Child
"A real short and intense instrumental for when you need that extra push up around the bend ..."
'Oops, Here I Go Again'
Edna Wright
"When driving together with the woman you love ..."
'Riot in the Dungeons'
Yngwie Malmsteen
"After driving for an hour or two, I always get so sleepy ... Zzzzz ... This song wakes me up, and saves me from crossing into the opposite lane ... Ugh"
'Woodpeckers From Space'
Video Kids
"Annoying chipmunk-vocals for the kids, and a killer synth-riff for us nostalgic 80s-music-lovers. We usually put this song on when we´re almost there, trying to keep the kids happy for the last five minutes ..."
