The Amy Winehouse Foundation is aimed at assisting disadvantaged youth. It raised $1 million dollars in the United Kingdom, Mitch Winehouse said at Wednesday night's event.
He says in America the organization will focus on children "without access to music education and music therapy." The family announced a donation of $10,000 to the New Orleans Jazz Orchestra.
He was joined by his ex-wife and son. He also performed with a jazz band.
Amy Winehouse died of accidental alcohol poisoning in July.
