According to the Haringey Independent, Michael was talking to some fans outside his home on April 14 when North London Paranormal Investigators walked by and attracted a slightly larger following.
Investigators Micky Gocool and Louise Roche -- both sporting black combat boots and a "police-style" belt with ghost-nabbing gadgets -- asked Michael if he wanted to assist them in a case as they moved towards Pond Square, a location reportedly having frequent paranormal activity. Although it's unclear if Michael helped them out, he did take a photograph with the duo which ran in the newspaper.
"I quite often see George Michael in Highgate, I have known him for what seems like a hundred years," Gocool said. "He is a really nice guy, but I think he must have been surprised when more people were talking to us than him."
News of the former Wham! frontman's strange encounter coincides with the singer revealing he penned a new song called "White Light," which was inspired by the singer's bout with pneumonia last year, something which nearly cost him his life. Michael described the song as "a blinder."
"You may recall my reference to those strange individuals who took the time to pray for my death as I lay in my hospital bed back in November," Michael said in a series of April 4 tweets. "But don't think I don't realize how many of you out there prayed for my recovery. I thank you all from the deepest part of my soul xxx."
Last month, Michael announced his rescheduled dates as part of his Symphonica tour, dates which were nixed last year due to his ill health.
Michael released his last studio album Patience in 2004.
