In His Words: "'Monitor Arms' is our Greenpoint anthem. In the aftermath of the massive two-day fire in our neighborhood, I was thinking about the history and the shipbuilding lineage that was lost. We used some traditional sea chantey and folk sounds, like a nylon-string guitar and a harmonium, and other sounds for added intensity, like a heavily distorted guitar. For the ending, we initially tried to get the troupe of a variety show to come record like sailors chanting, but we couldn't make the logistics work. Still, we tried to capture the feel of a ship's crew singing while they work."
