Fortunately spirits remained high, thanks in no small part to rousing daytime sets by the likes of Kendrick Lamar, Girls, and a remarkably spry Jimmy Cliff. As the sun went down, the crowds swelled, especially in the Mojave tent, where The Rapture and M83 brought the house down with successive sets.
At the end of the night, following a headlining set by the Black Keys, festival goers found themselves in what's known as an "IKEA dilemma," forced to chose between reunited Swedish punk legends Refused (whose drum kit read "Levon Helm R.I.P.") or the laser-and-fireworks display of Swedish House Mafia.
The good news is, there was no wrong answer. Now if only we can all make it through two more days.
