Coachella 2012: Tupac Hologram Haunts Festival; Hives, Wild Flag and At the Drive-In Rock Anyway (PHOTOS)

The specter of Sunday's guest from beyond the grave seemed to haunt the other bands as well. Wild Flag's Carrie Brownstein pointed out that the desert head made it "a good day to be a hologram," while At the Drive-In greeted the crowd with, "Ladies and gentlemen, we are Jem and the Holograms!"
But not everyone had holograms on the brain. The Hives, by far the loudest band of the weekend, came out in top hats and tails, demanding that "everybody say 'f--- the sun!' I'm a cool-blooded Swede motherf---er!" The Weeknd, on the other hand, was so quiet you had to get within 50 yards to hear clearly. And based on the Justice crowd, we are about to face a national glow-stick shortage.
And then it was time for the main event. Despite repeated crowd requests for a ghostly visit from Notorious B.I.G., there were no surprises -- Snoop, Dre, and friends put on the exact same show as last weekend. (Well, 50 Cent did wear a different jacket.)
And it was awesome! No one cared. Snoop covered House of Pain's "Jump Around," and the crowd did just that. We were putty in their hands.
Turns out the biggest surprise of all was that we didn't need one.
