Scott Weiland Premieres 'Breathe' From 'Avengers' Soundtrack -- Listen

So, here is the Stone Temple Pilots frontman's new track "Breathe." The soundtrack will be available on May 1, and the movie will hit theaters on May 4.

I don't mean to hate... I've been a fan forever, I'm all for Scott trying new stuff... but this is bad. First, it uses the I V vi IV chord progression, which is a huge pop-songwriting cop out, a crutch that the Deleo brothers have the integrity not to use. Second, the recording does not sound professional... it sounds like a semi-talented hobbyist recorded it, the drums like muddy, you can hear the auto tune, and the guitar effects are compete too much with the main melody (this is a problem with all songs Scott does with his own label). The only good thing about this song is Scott's voice sounds fairly strong and has a good tone (minus the auto tune on it). Scott go back to Brenden O'Brien for your recordings.
