Now, Jarvis is back with his third album, Think Bigger, out July 17 via The End records. The follow-up to 2011's Is The World Strange or Am I Strange? will feature "Sunshine," a track Spinner is proud to debut today.
"'Sunshine' is a song about being constantly aware that you may be growing accustomed to things in your life that offer you comfort and, through long-term exposure, make you less ready for the inevitable negative that life will sooner or later throw into the mix of your existence," Jarvis tells Spinner of the track.
Tell All Your Friends
"It's about welcoming the negative in a seemingly masochistic fashion in order to avoid the terminal value the negative knocks would possess to a person who regularly welcomes the positive throughout his or her life.
"Also it's about evil just being more exciting than good," Jarvis continues. "Resenting the good because it will only leave after raising your standard to a level that make the original standard seem substandard and miserable."
Take a listen to Jarvis' folky stomp below, and keep an eye out for Jarvis' recently finished debut feature film, "Naughty Room."
