Garbage Reveal the Weird Origin of 'Automatic Systematic Habit' -- Exclusive Video & Free Download

The song is the first track off of Not Your Kind of People, the first Garbage album in six years. The album will be released on May 15, but you can download the full song for free from iTunes.
"Automatic Systematic Habit was originally called 'Electro' because it was this kind of synthy, Euro dance song that was concocted just as sort of a lark, really," multi-instrumentalist Duke Erikson reveals.
"When I first recorded it, for whatever reason, I don't know why, I was singing it in a German accent," Shirley Manson adds. "There was a pause after I finished and I said, 'Well, that's the idea. What do you think?' and I remember Steve [Marker, guitarist] and Duke looking at each other going, 'We like it. We like it. I think you should drop the German accent.'"
