Malcolm McLaren: Millionaire Son Haunted by Ex-Sex Pistols Manager's Deathbed Will

According to the Daily Mail, McLaren wrote a note four days before he died on April 8, 2010 which explicitly stated he was removing his lone son Joe Corre out of his inheritance. The estate, which was approximately £170,000 ($274,000 US), was instead left to his girlfriend for over a decade, Young Kim.
"Joe is haunted by this," Stuart Edwards, Malcolm's brother and Joe's uncle, told the publication. "He looks at me and says, Why, why, why, why, would a father write 'I specifically exclude my son from my estate?'"
And if people think Corre is hurting for money, they're sadly mistaken. Corre is a multi-millionaire who co-founded the lingerie brand Agent Provocateur. Nonetheless, he held up probate for the last two years trying to determine if McLaren's will was legally binding. Attorneys representing Corre concluded their attempt to contest the will wouldn't be victorious.
"'What kills me, what is a knife through my heart, is that he made this statement to the world,'" Corre has said, according to Edwards.
Following the demise of the Sex Pistols, it would be Corre who assisted McLaren financially, with the late manager telling Edwards he "squandered £10 million in the space of about 10 years.'"
Edwards says the family isn't exactly sure what is included in McLaren's estate but believe there is "real value" regarding "Malcolm's intellectual properties" and "song rights." McLaren's funeral, which was paid for by Corre, took place in London's Highgate Cemetery with Sex Pistols drummer Paul Cook and Boomtown Rats' Bob Geldof among those in attendance.
McLaren made enemies over the course of his career, but perhaps none more than Sex Pistols singer Johnny Rotten (John Lydon).
"Let's just say that if Malcolm breathes, it's too much for me to stomach," the singer was once quoted as saying of McLaren, who managed the group from 1975 to 1977. However on hearing McLaren's passing he softened his comments: "Above all else he was an entertainer and I will miss him, and so should you."
