Two things about Cary Brothers: First of all, Cary Brothers is one person, not a family unit as one might suppose. Secondly, he is one of the last people we'd expect to cover to cover INXS.

But the guy pulls it off. With an able backing band behind him, Brothers delivers a fuzzed-out and guitarified cover while keeping the original's lovelorn, plaintive heart.

"I was a huge fan of INXS when I was a kid, and their concert was one of the first shows I ever saw," Brothers tells Spinner. "I was blown away by Michael Hutchence's command of the stage. I wanted to take this epic love song out of its polished '80s shell and reinvent it as a rough, dirty rock 'n' roll tune. The passion was already there in the lyrics. If the original was a soundtrack for kissing, then I guess this one is for making out."
