According to South Africa's Times Live, the singer fell in Cape Town late Tuesday evening and severely injured himself. It was definitely not the best way to celebrate what was his 67th birthday.

The group, best known for their signature hit "A Whiter Shade of Pale" were touring with the Moody Blues and 10cc as part of a special "British Invasion" tour.
