New Jersey rockers the Early November are releasing their first album in over six years, so hold on to your hats and get ready for a revival of real East Coast emo!

"A Stain on the Carpet," off their upcoming In Currents LP, keeps a constantly steady rhythm that never escalates into a cheap crescendo while never losing any of its oomph. The lyrics evoke images of wine spilling into an ex's carpet, leaving the indelible stain of a relationship behind. It's heavy stuff, but it rocks.

"This song comes from conversations no one ever wants to have but know they have to," vocalist Ace Enders tells Spinner. "It addresses the confrontation of a serious and potentially very unpleasant situation that may happen in the future. It's about being honest and preparing yourself now for something that you may have no control over if or when it does happen."
