The week of April 20th marked two significant historical events.
Tellison, 'Freud Links the Teeth and the Heart' -- Video of the Day

Artist: Tellison
Video: "Freud Links the Teeth and the Heart"
Highlight: "I like videos that give you a little peek into the collective consciousness of a band," vocalist Stephen Davidson tells Spinner. "Our second album, The Wages of Fear, is all about getting used to bad luck, to failure and missed opportunities, to being let down and sabotaging yourself and sighing behind closed doors when things don't go your way again and again. As such, we wanted all our videos to finish with something like an anticlimax, where no one wins and you're left with a bittersweet sense of might-have-been. The plot for the video of 'Freud Links the Teeth and the Heart' was born out of the head of one Carl Peck, a work colleague of Pete and mine in the arts cinema in Cambridge where we work."

"In much the same way that the members of our band work all manner of strange, disappointing and awkward jobs to pay our bills and keep our hand-to-mouth lives just about on course, Carl, as a film-maker, does much the same. He is a part of Cambridge-based collective Project Trident who make some of the best short films I've had the pleasure of seeing. The video itself charts a brief and quietly shocking romantic entanglement that is 90% the stuff that everyday life is filled with and 10% everyone's worst nightmare. The shy smiles at members of the opposite sex, the secret desires and longings that make up the minutiae of everyone's lives are contrasted with something altogether more unsettling. This story has a sting in the tail and the truly awful pain of dental discomfort quickly becomes the least of our protagonist's problems."
