We can all pretty much agree on that, right?
Doing things like playing Spinner AOL's big free NXNE street party on June 16 might be enough to prove this point, but it just so happens there's so, so much more.
Nearly 30 years into the game the proud Oklahoman band have become that hippie uncle that surreptitiously slips you a two-paper joint as a present for graduating high-school. Essentially, they're a gateway drug for everything that's groovy, whether it's celebrating the human body in technicolor videos with the, er, help of Erykah Badu, releasing music via gummy candy fetuses instead of compact discs, writing fight songs for the Oklahoma City Thunder basketball team, or putting together events with names like the "International Music Against Brain Degeneration Revue," the Lips -- presently made up of Wayne Coyne, Michael Ivins, Steven Drozd, Kliph Scurlock and Derek Brown -- are basically always doing something cool.
With that in mind we decided to itemize all of the things the Flaming Lips have done that make them so much better than every other band. Then we actually had to stop researching because the list was getting too long and this could have gone on forever. Instead, we present you with this:
10 Great Moments in Flaming Lips History.
