Best Coast 'The Only Place' Video: Sun, Fun and a Little Destruction

The Los Angeles Tourism & Convention Board could do worse than to partner up with Best Coast. The duo has made no secret of its love for the city, and in the brand-new video for "The Only Place" (below), Bethany Cosentino and Bobb Bruno go galavanting across La-La Land, making a good case for why outsiders should visit.

Swimming pools, the beach, the Pacific Coast Highway, convertibles, surfboards, palm trees: It's all here in this Ace Norton-directed clip. Bethany and Bobb even shoot off fireworks.

Oddly enough, for such a happy-go-lucky video, the band sure does smash a lot of stuff. Items bashed to bits or otherwise destroyed include a watermelon, a drum set, two guitars (acoustic and electric), some souvenir Hollywood coffee mugs, a beer bottle, a television set and in the waning seconds, the stylin' Best Coast jean jackets the band had sported for the preceding three minutes.

"Why would you live anywhere else?" Cosentino sings in the chorus. We can't think of any reason -- except maybe to avoid getting hit by flying debris.
