St. Vincent, David Byrne Album: Duo Announces 'Love This Giant' Release Date, Tracklist and Tour

Andreas Laszlo Konrath

More than two years after they started work on the project, St. Vincent and David Byrne have announced the details of their collaborative album. Love This Giant drops Sept. 11 on 4AD, and four days later, the duo heads out on a tour that runs through Oct. 20, Exclaim reports.

Byrne and St. Vincent, aka Annie Clark, teamed up to write 10 of the 12 songs -- full tracklist below -- and each chipped in one individual composition. In a press release, the pair promises an "infectious and hook-laden affair," adding that the songs feature "idiosyncratic horn arrangements." That's a fair description of the tune "Who," which can be downloaded free via the duo's website or the widget below.

"A lot of people, hearing a description of this project, assumed that it might be an artsy indulgence, but somehow it didn't turn out that way," Byrne says on the website. "It's a pop record -- well, in my book anyway. I started to sense that we were ending up with a sound and approach I'd never heard before. There were elements that were reminiscent of things I'd heard, but a lot of it was completely new. Very exciting!"

As for the tour, Byrne says he and Annie will do "these songs and a bunch of songs that we suspect people will know."

The Love This Giant tracklist:

1. "Who"
2. "Weekend in the Dust"
3. "Dinner For Two"
4. "Ice Age"
5. "I Am An Ape"
6. "The Forest Awakes"
7. "I Should Watch TV"
8. "Lazarus"
9. "Optimist"
10. "Lightning"
11. "The One Who Broke Your Heart" (ft. The Dap-Kings and Antibalas)
12. "Outside of Space & Time"
