Viral sensation Carly Rae Jepsen's ubiquitous hit continues to mutate into exotic new forms and the latest comes courtesy of a 43 version covers compilation featuring acts with names like Total Dicks, DJ Homo Rainbow, Crumb Stain, and DJ Colostomy Bagpipes. Oh, and Dan Deacon, too.
Deacon's contribution, "Call Me Maybe Acapella 147 Times Exponentially Layered," is... something. It's also pretty much exactly what the song title advertises.
The compilation was curated by Mabson Enterprises, who said on the comp's Bandcamp page, "This is a collection of people doing covers/ remixes/ interpretations of Carly Rae Jepsen's 'Call Me Maybe.' They are in the order of how I received them. I have so many talented friends. This is amazing. Enjoy."
The whole compilation is downloadable in a Radiohead pay-what-you-want style, but if you just want to hear the magic of what Jepsen's "Call Me Maybe" sounds like layered 147 times, check it out below:
