Foster the People Singer Says Snoop Dogg Helped Him Quit Marijuana

Foster and the People frontman Mark Foster has found an unlikely ally in his quest to quit marijuana -- Snoop Dogg.

According to Q Magazine (via NME), Foster had a chance meeting with Snoop, saying, "It's funny, the one time I got star-struck was when I met Snoop Dogg. I gave him a hug and said, 'I love you, man.' It was cool cos [sic] I'd just stopped smoking weed three days before."

The "Pumped Up Kicks" singer told Snoop that even though he had just quit, he'd love to smoke with the legendary rapper. But instead of lighting up a fatty blunt, Snoop gave Foster an important lesson.

"He said 'Y'know what, brother: sometimes you gotta slow down and focus on your shit.' From the godfather of marijuana smoking, that was good enough for me."

Pretty good advice, eh? Foster the People are set to follow up their 2011 smash hit album Torches with a new record in 2013.
