Mick Jagger Pursued Angelina Jolie, Dated David Bowie New Book Claims

Rolling Stones singer Mick Jagger had a long-term love affair with David Bowie and pursued a young Angelina Jolie while married to Jerry Hall according to a new Christopher Andersen biography entitled 'Mick: The Wild Life and Mad Genius of Jagger.'

According to the Daily Mail, which obtained excerpts of the book, rumors of the Bowie and Jagger tryst had been previously speculated on but friends and family members of both rock stars have basically confirmed such reports.

"Bowie and Jagger were soon spotted everywhere together without their wives: sitting ringside at the Muhammad Ali-Ken Norton bout, hanging out at the London disco Tramp, yelling and stomping their approval at a Diana Ross concert, or just cuddling up together on a hotel room couch," Andersen writes in the book, adding Bowie took Jagger to gay films.

A well-known story of Bowie's then-wife Angie walking into their London residence to see Jagger and David Bowie in the same bed naked. "Both men woke up with a start," Andersen writes. "'Oh, hello,' said Bowie, clearly taken by surprise. 'How are you?' 'I'm fine,' Angie replied. 'Do you want some coffee?'"

Andersen claims Angie "felt absolutely certain that they'd been screwing. It was so obvious, in fact, that I never even considered the possibility that they hadn't been screwing."

Bowie's backup singer at the time Ava Cherry also substantiated the claims, reportedly revealing to her friend the pair "were really sexually obsessed with each other" before adding she "ended up just watching them have sex." Meanwhile, former Playboy centerfold, and Liv Tyler's mother, Bebe Buell claims she was involved in threesomes with the pair and would get phone calls "inviting me to join them in bed with four gorgeous black women" or "four gorgeous black men."

The book also claims Jagger sought a relationship with Angelina Jolie while still married to Jerry Hall. Jolie, who appeared in the 1997 video for the Stones' 'Anybody Seen My Baby,' was married to Johnny Lee Miller at the time but Jolie's mother Marcheline Bertrand was hopeful Jolie and Jagger would get together and eventually even marry.

"She felt that he could teach her about fame and how to handle it," Lauren Taines, a friend of Bertrand's family, told Andersen. Jagger is four years younger than Jolie's father, Jon Voight.

Excerpts of the book in the NY Daily News show Jagger obsessed with the young Jolie. Though initially brushing off his repeated pleas, Jolie did finally agree to spend some time with Jagger in Florida during a break in the Rolling Stones' Bridges to Babylon tour, but "the weekend left Angelina unimpressed and Mick wanting more."

Jagger then reportedly tried to cast Jolie's husband Jonny Miller, of Trainspotting fame, in Jagged Films' Enigma in hopes she would visit the film set. When Jolie found out, she angrily asked him to stop calling, but he did not. The book claims the calls continued, with Jagger "virtually sobbing" over the phone.

Some have criticized Andersen's book. According to Examiner.com, large portions of Andersen's new book are identical to Andersen's 1994 book Jagger Unauthorized.

The book is on sale in North America now.
