Scientologist Musicians: Who Are/Were the Church of Scientology's Musical Members?

The German promoters provided Punknews.org with an exclusive statement: "Joey Briggs is a member of Scientology...we didn't want to present an artist to our crowd that is associated with this. (They) directly exploit the hopes and despair of people that are often in a dark place in their life when they are approached."
The band responded via Facebook, saying the promoters "vehemently violated our religious and human rights" and claimed the decision would end up becoming material for their next studio album.
This story prompted us to dig around. Over the years many musicians have been drawn to Scientology, some, like Leonard Cohen, merely flirting with the religion briefly while others, like Beck and Juliette Lewis, are longstanding members.

You all seem to know so much about all religion. What if you're wrong? What if you end up in hell after you die? I'ts so easy for you to say there is no God. Really? I already know that you have many blessings in your lives, and that is what people who have everything they want, and do anything they want, believe. Maybe, before you try to convince everyone, you should read the bible...unless you just think you know everything about everything. Maybe you could comment on Religion after that. Every little aspect of your life is in the bible. How did they know what was going to happen before it has? Stop being useless, If you can't educate yourself before making that statement, we really don't care about your expertise in the area

However, if God is as you say He is, then regardless of what I do, I will be subject to whatever decision He may ultimately have for me, and have little power with which to fight back. Therefore, if I am to be condemned, why not be condemned for being who He created me to be in the first place, whether that is a citizen of Heaven or Hell?

July 14 2012 at 9:59 PM Report abuse Permalink +1 rate up rate down ReplyAll religions are the creation of humans, there is no god involved because it does not exist. We don't understand what happens to our mind after death,it may exist after our body is decomposing, if it does it is a natural evolution of our being and is not supernatural. Our heaven or hell may be in our memories and dreams which we have accumilated throughout our lives and we may be able to re-live all of it for better or worse forever. You will never know till you die.

I studied the origin of man and religion and man created the original GODS all of them over many years. Each religion is a cult. King james himself was kicked out of scottland beacuse he wanted to start his own clut, which he did. He was also Gay but look what he allowed to be put in the book he put his name on.
July 14 2012 at 9:32 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyIn what I have read about this CULT its main theory is to have well known entertainers, singers and all others having money. It is not a chrishtian group. I am sure that its hard on there familys on the out side
July 14 2012 at 9:12 PM Report abuse Permalink +1 rate up rate down ReplyEveryone makes mistakes , but hopefully they can make amends there. Elvis and Michael included, but they naver had a chance to make amends. Lisa has a chance to , so hopefully she will make amends for the sake of her children. I wish her luck in her future. I loved her father and was in his fan club for years . GOOD LUCK TO YOU LISA MARIE

July 14 2012 at 8:23 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyAddictive personalities seek addiction. Scientology , for some, is an addiction. For others a means to assuage whatever things they either are running from, or want to face, take your pick. It has been shown to be somewhat repressive, and oppressive. That can be said for other 'faiths' as well . As for Lisa Marie, she had no chance to develop the skills to make informed choices. Her father was made into something he was not, then when his actions ended his life, she still was more an object than a person. I would suspect her marriages to MJ and Nic Cage speak to some life issues there.
