The Old Ceremony, 'Star By Star' -- Song Premiere

Considering he's writing two non-fictions books, including an account of his great-grandfather's journey on the Titanic, it's no surprise that The Old Ceremony's Django Haskins finds inspiration in history. However, in "Star By Star," Haskins does not retell stories of the past, but instead ponders the possibility of knowing his own destiny.

"I'd read part of a friend's book about the Personal Genome Project and the idea of mapping out your future, how you will die, what from, etc., really struck me," Haskins tells Spinner. "I realized, do we really want to know this kind of thing? Aren't we letting our search for knowledge take us away from what is real in life, which is to experience it, not to control it?"
