Garbage's Shirley Manson Threatened by Twitter Stalker

Garbage frontwoman Shirley Manson has been the subject of hundreds of hateful tweets since the band released their latest album Not Your Kind of People, the Daily Beast reports.

The alleged cyberstalker, known only as Ray Gunn at the Twitter handle @Gunn2urhead, has been blasting individual members of Garbage with vile tweets since mid-May, accusing Manson of being a telepath and a witch. The fanatic has also threatened to kill himself or the singer, which prompted the band to contact authorities.

The rockers' manager Paul Kremen has since been in touch with the LAPD's Hollywood division. Police acted quickly, and on May 30 obtained a search warrant requesting any information on @Gunn2urhead's account from Twitter executives.

"[Manson] stated that she is in great fear for her and her family's safety due to the nature of the threats, the sheer volume of them and the 'crazy' sounding messages being posted towards her," the warrant details. "She stated she has never had anything like this on this level occur to her and she is very frightened and wants the threats to be investigated fully."

@Gunn2urhead has stopped writing since June 21, but Police are still investigating who is behind the heinous tweets. They hope to bring felony charges against the user.
