As the NME reports, Dylan produced Tempest himself, working as he often does under the pseudonym Jack Frost. Discounting his 2009 holiday set, Christmas From the Heart, the folk-rock legend has been on something of a late-career tear, and his last four albums -- Time Out of Mind, "Love and Theft," Modern Times and Together Through Life -- have ranked among his finest.
The last of those featured prominent accordion work from Los Lobos multi-instrumentalist David Hidalgo, who praised his iconic collaborator earlier this year.
''It's an amazing thing, how he keeps creativity," Hidalgo said, according to Contact Music. "I don't see how he does it."
Dylan, who earlier this year added the Presidential Medal of Freedom to his stack of accolades, is currently on tour in Europe. He hits the United States and Canada later this summer and is expected launch a widespread U.K. tour next year.
The Tempest tracklist:
"Duquesne Whistle"
"Soon After Midnight"
"Narrow Way"
"Long and Wasted Years"
"Pay In Blood"
"Scarlet Town"
"Early Roman Kings"
"Tin Angel"
"Tempest"
