The band's new single "Don't Blow It" covers a lot of ground in its first 30 seconds. Lead singer Tony Hello sounds like Fred Schneider slamming poetry over a spazzed-out riff. It's like LCD Soundsystem and Talking Heads had a baby. Lots of influences, but totally original.
"The majority of the song was tracked in our warehouse in downtown Los Angeles, some of which was actually recorded during a big party we threw!" guitarist Spencer Peterson tells Spinner.
"Shortly after moving to Los Angeles, we started touring with our friends Kid Theodore (now Toy Bombs). On said tour, we crafted several 'rules' for our time together on the road, one being: 'Don't Blow It.' Most scenarios could be boiled down to whether or not you blew it."
Stream "Don't Blow It" above and check out Eyes Lips Eyes' upcoming EP What You Want (If You Want) out Aug. 21 via Roll Call Records/ILG.

"Only game in town"? That's just plain ignorance.

The Used came from Provo. And Neon Trees. Fictionist just signed with Atlantic records. Imagine Dragons just signed with Interscope. Can't Stop Won't Stop is a hip-hop group that hasn't signed with a label yet, but they're inching toward 40,000 facebook fans. Lindsey Stirling charted for the Billboard Social 50 (just above 50 Cent, just below Avril Lavign), topped the Electronic charts for a while in the US (still is topping charts in other countries), and has over a hundred million views on her YouTube channel. What I'm saying is, it ain't exactly as dead out here as you casually make it sound.
