It's easy to write off Axl Rose and the hired hands who make up Guns N' Roses (Guns N' Rose-ish?) as a bit of a vertigo-susceptible, stuff-hating, time-challenged joke these days, but there once was a time -- pre-Chinese Democracy/Brian Wilson-esque meltdown -- when GNR were the biggest, baddest rock band in the world.
There was also a time when the Rolling Stones were apparently public enemy number one in Montreal, Quebec, and when John Lennon was public enemy number one in America.
