Ian Hunter, 'When I'm President' -- Song Premiere

Ian Hunter, the venerable lead singer of Mott the Hoople, is back and readying the release of his 20th studio album. When I'm President may have sprung from the singer's Oval Office dreams, but its a subject that songwriters have avoided for quite some time.

"I hate making records -- this one was fun," Hunter tells Spinner. "I always thought, with age, the muse and the desire would fade -- but it's still strong. There's an outboard motor up my ass that won't leave me alone."


The new album's title track employs the same pop prowess that Hunter has perfected over the years. Age shows in his vocals, as an added grit has entered his often smooth intonation, but it's a great addition.
