In His Words: "'Moon Of the Daylit Sky' was one of those songs that unfolded itself. It was written in the car while my family and I were driving to the zoo. Our 3-year-old daughter Mayla was having an epic fit in her car seat and, in an effort to create a diversion for her, I pointed out the nearly full-moon all lazy and low on the horizon. I quickly asked my wife Nikki to grab my notebook and write down 'I love to see the moon on a daylit sky, like a pearl up in the blue singing PLEASE DON'T CRY!' It actually quieted Mayla down to see the moon in front of us and hear her daddy riff on its behalf! When we got back home from the zoo I added a few extra lines, built a chord progression around them and demoed it on my phone. At first glance I thought the song was overly linear and simplistic, but I soon realized I had inadvertently unearthed something precious. I'm so grateful for having the privilege of carrying this song up to us! Thank you!"
