Simian Mobile Disco Announce New EP, New Jessie Ware Single, a Whole Lot of Arthur Russell & More

Simian Mobile Disco have announced that they will be dropping a new EP, A Form of Change, on Oct. 2. Check out snippets here. They also announced North American live dates, which is awesome. [XLR8R]

Matthew Dear will also be touring live, in support of his excellent new LP, Beams. [Ghostly]

This new Jessie Ware single "Sweet Talk" sounds big. Julio Bashmore really running with that "Well Wishers" guitar. "Well Wishers" 12". Ware's debut, Devotion, is out August 20. [YouTube]

The Red Hot charity and Pitchfork have partnered to release This is How We Walk on the Moon, a compilation of Arthur Russell covers, featuring Robyn, Washed Out, Hot Chip, Cut Copy, Twin Shadow, Jose Gonzalez, Sandro Perri and more. Damn, so many tracks we'd be interested to hear covered. [Pitchfork]

It's all Arthur Russell today, apparently, as the London's Go Bang! mini festival, which features Four Tet, Levon Vincent and Ben UFO has found a new venue for its Aug. 26 event. [Quietus]

Meanwhile, UK bass producer Greena has launched a new blog, Clean on Your Bean, a reference to Arthur Russell's Dinosaur L track, which will focus on "post punk, disco, synth, library and such." Check out his awesome new mix here. [FACT]

We're going deep this post. Synth pioneer Manuel Gottsching will be performing his hugely influential album E2-E4, one of electronic music's early masterpieces, live in Japan, at a charity event in aid of children orphaned by the tsunami. The event will be streamed live on Aug. 11 here.
