Delerium, 'Monarch Feat. Nadina' -- Video Premiere

Vancouver-based electronic dance act Delerium are putting out their 14th album (depending on how you count) Music Box Opera this fall and Spinner gets to debut the new video for the song "Monarch" featuring Lebanese singer Nadina Zarifeh.

Bill Leeb, the creator/brainchild behind Delerium, and past Skinny Puppy/Frontline Assembly member, considers "Monarch" a defining song for them.

"Delerium is about traditional structures delivered with ethereal production and unique vocals," he told Spinner. "By incorporating Middle Eastern lyrics, the video and song for 'Monarch' really capture the spirit and concept of Delerium and Music Box Opera."

In the video a troubled gothy Bridget Fonda type gets her keyboard stolen by some street thug. Then she follows a butterfly into a magic land where she becomes a Xena warrior princess and returns to the normal world to get her stolen gear back. Meanwhile, Nadina sings rather elegantly from a mountaintop.
