In Their Words: "'Marianne' is another song where I struggle with the idea of growing older. I suppose I think about that a little too much, especially for as young as I am. Marianne is a fictional character, someone who spent most of her life trying to keep up with the cliche rock 'n' roll lifestyle. Eventually, something's going to give and I found that to be kind of sad. I explored that in my own way with these lyrics and we set the song to a pretty cheerful melody.
