Chris Wollard & the Ship Thieves, 'Dream in My Head' -- Song Premiere

Chris Wollard of Hot Water Music is a busy man. His main band has gotten back together for a lengthy North American tour and new album Exister, but that's not all this guitar-slinger is up to.

Chris Wollard and the Ship Thieves have now arrived on the rock 'n' roll scene, comprised of members from Quit, Hawks and Doves and the Future Now. Their sophomore album, Canyons, hits record store shelves this fall via No Idea, but you can get a taste now through new single "Dream in My Head."

"This raucous little jam was swimming in Wollard's noggin when we were first putting the band together," bassist Chad Darby tells Spinner. "The song has been through a ton of variations, and I'm really enamored with the take we captured. We tend to wander all over the place musically, but 'Dream in My Head' acts as a solid space base for the savage voyages we embark on."

A distorted and dirty Southern-rock riff introduces our ears to Wollard's smoke-infused vocals. The verses, truncated by punk rock lead lines, flow into a classic rock chorus that even Skynyrd would be envious of.
