Father Tiger, 'Shell' -- Video of the Day

Video: "Shell"
Highlight: "'Shell' is all about being yourself and expressing yourself, so we wanted a video that reflected that," vocalist Greg Delson tells Spinner. "Our friend, director/editor Jeff McHale, thought a great way to visually portray this self-expression would be through Instagram. Additionally, we reached out to artist John Parot, who created a number of brightly covered, unique shapes for the video. We ran a fan contest where the shapes were mailed out to the applicants who then shot photos with them and uploaded them to Instagram with a special hash tag. We had over 400 submissions.
"All the live footage of the band was shot with a single iPhone 4. The video was edited together including the fan photos, and then exported frame by frame. Over 5,000 frames were then imported onto the iPhone and processed one-by-one through Instagram. After re-importing the processed frames back into Final Cut Pro, the video was then pieced back together frame by frame. All in all the process took over 3 months to complete. We are really proud of it, and love how it celebrates individuality and creativity."
