In Iceberg Slim: Portrait of a Pimp, produced by rapper/actor Ice-T and directed by his manager, Jorge Hinojosa, Snoop (still going by the name "Dogg" in the film) discusses Iceberg Slim and the iconic writer and poet's influence on hip-hop. Quincy Jones, Chris Rock and Henry Rollins also appear in the film.
Ice-T hasn't had a chance to see his hip-hop contemporary and co-star's other film yet, but he's a little dubious about Snoop's transformation.
"Snoop Lion? I gotta see that shit!" he said with a wry grin when Spinner asked him about the doc.
Although the Reincarnated producers are fully behind Snoop Lion, Ice isn't particularly sold on the whole Rastafari and reggae rebirth that Snoop's undergone.
"I know Snoop. That shit'll only be 'Snoop Lion' for another month once the weed wears off," he says.
