Sonar on Tour: Europe's Premiere Electronic Music Festival Comes to North America
This year, the festival comes to North America.
Kicking off in Chicago on Oct. 31, Sonar on Tour will hit eight North American cities, featuring some of the electronic music's best live performers and DJs, Azari & III, Seth Troxler, Paul Kalkbrenner, Tiga, Gesaffelstein, Nic Fanciulli and finally Die Antwoord, whose addition is somewhat of a surprise.
The first-ever Sonar tour is not for fans of "bubble-gum EDM," as the festival's press release states, rather it will attempt to "celebrate the avante garde and experimentation, and to explore the boundaries of electronic music and its cultural iterations."
Past Sonar performers have included Daft Punk, Kraftwerk, Laurent Garnier, Underworld, Aphex Twin, Steve Reich, LCD Soundsystem, Orbital, Carl Craig, Jeff Mills, Chic, Massive Attack, Bjork, Pet Shop Boys, Richie Hawtin and many more.
