Brad Parker Dead: Generation Esmeralda Drummer, Dies On Stage in Brazil From Heart Attack at 59

According to the New York Daily News, Parker was behind his drum kit roughly halfway through the group's show in Uba, Brazil (four hours north of Rio) when he collapsed forward onto his drum kit.
A 61-second clip of the incident was posted on YouTube showing Parker falling but his band mates, obviously unaware of the situation, continue performing. Singer Jimmy Goings can be seen immediately afterwards walking back towards the drums but not realizing Parker was in distress.
A side angle shot shows the motionless Parker falling to his right off his stool and down to the ground, knocking over a drum in the process. Goings rushes back to Parker and more people, including medics and the band's roadies, rush on to the stage. Although there's no audio accompanying the video, it appears that the band finally stops playing 56 seconds into the video, or some 25 seconds after Parker's fall.
Local media outlets were informed Parker was taken to hospital where he died on Sunday.
"Doctors performed all the emergency procedures but unfortunately there was no solution," Sergio Lopes told Agence-France Presse.
Goings posted a statement Sunday (Sept. 23) on the band's Facebook page elaborating on the tragedy.
"To dispell all rumors and hopefully re-focus intentions to the family I am deeply saddened to report that during our concert in Uba Brazil last night, we lost our friend and brother Brad Parker to a fatal heart attack," Goings wrote. "There are simply no words."
Goings asked fans to pray for Parker's family and thanked the city of Uba for their support in this trying time.
"I am extremely proud of our group and their handling of this situation," he said. "And I am happy to say they are all safely on their way home now. Please honor Brad as we do in his memory and remember him and his amazing talent and for the loving person he was. He died doing what he loved best."
The statement concluded that the band will carry on in Parker's honor.
Generation Esmeralda features members of '70s disco band Santa Esmeralda, who were best known for their covers of "House of The Rising Sun" and "Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood," the latter appearing on the 2003 soundtrack to first volume of Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill. Goings joined the band after their debut album and remained with the group until they disbanded in 1983.
Funeral arrangements have yet to be announced.

It's always sad when someone dies but . . . .who???
PS Don't worry. I won't post this 6 times.
I'm terribly sorry that he couldn't be revived. My condolences to his family, friends, and fans. I don't know of this band but that's irrelevant. To endure something like this so far from home and in front of so many who weren't even aware but would have helped if they had only known, is a complete tragedy. It really makes you wonder how you'll leave this life. Rest well, Brad Parker. Rest in peace.
