The former Smiths singer was recently in New York City, looking through photography volumes at the Strand Bookstore when an elderly woman in his vicinity collapsed. Big Mouth sprang into action to attend to the fallen woman.
An anonymous source tells Queerty that the singer "immediately rushed to her side and crouched on the ground to see if she was okay. She had just lost her bearings and was fine."
Morrissey then picked up the woman's belongings and asked if he could help her in any other way. The source says the woman had no idea who her helper was -- but she did touch his cheek in gratitude.
Did this act of generosity melt the British crooner's cold heart? Probably not, the witness says. He "seemed very shaken up and flustered by the incident and left the store soon afterwards without buying anything."
And that was the time Morrissey helped a woman that fainted.
