In Their Words: "Originally, we had planned for this to be the closing track to an LP, but once we recorded it, the production drove the track in a new direction and it became our lead single on White Iris. We felt like our prior material leaned more toward shoe-gaze, underlining vocals and 'California Dames' was our first foray into a more muscular psych-pop sound.
