Total Slacker Drummer Killed in Hit and Run

Brooklyn indie rockers Total Slacker are reeling from horrible news today. The band's drummer was killed this morning in a hit-and-run accident. According to police reports, 26-year-old Terence Connor was likely hit while riding his bike around 5:15AM between Metropolitan and Stewart avenues in Bushwick, New York.

First responders indicated that Connor had serious head trauma. He was transported to Woodhull Medical Center where he later was pronounced dead. Initially, an NYPD spokesman said "We're still trying to determine if he was struck or not."

Tucker Rountree, Total Slacker's lead singer, took to his Facebook today to commemorate and mourn the loss of his bandmate and friend.

"We're unbelievably heart broken, our drummer Terence Connor was killed in a hit and run accident while riding his bike early this morning. Sending all our love to his family and friends. THE SADDEST DAY -- WE WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU, FOREVER..."

The band released their first full-length record Thrashin last year and were reportedly working on a follow-up.

A free show in memory of Terence is in the works and will be held at the D.I.Y. Brooklyn venue 285 Kent. More details to follow.

How sad! Bikes are legal on the road and should have reflective markers on their wheels, motorists are supposed to honor them like cars..but to hit someone and not stop? What a chicken ****..KARMA..it will haunt the person who did this the rest of their life..hopefully there is video out there to show who it was!

I see a lot of people who walk or ride a bike on the side of the road when its dark and they are wearing dark clothing as well.....not saying thats what happened here.....but if you are gonna be on the edge of the road in the dark, at least wear something light colored....or preferably reflective or carry a flashlight or something..... RIP Terence

never heard of this guy or his band, but I have to say, riding a bike on the street is like taking a knife to a gun fight . Every time I see a bicyclist in traffic, I think how stupid they are and how dangerous their decision... About as dumb as those people who jog in the street instead of using the sidewalk...And by the way , it is illegal to run or walk in the street when a side walk is provided
