The tune features Keith Richards' signature gnarled lead guitar and Mick Jagger sounding younger than ever. "Doom and Gloom" also has some swampy undertones, as if the British bards are borrowing a bit of Louisiana blues.
The Stones' latest album, the greatest hits collection GRRR! will be available Nov. 13. Check out their brand new track below. How does it hold up to the band's older work? Let us know what you think on Twitter @Spinner.

Not their best but far from their worst. I like it. Mick sounds incredible. The guitar work was a little muddled. One of the things I have always liked about certain Stone's songs is--not musically inclined, but like on 'Rock and a Hard Place", the way the guitar growls almost like a percussion instrument at the end of vocal lines. Maybe another source will make the song sound better.

October 16 2012 at 3:10 PM Report abuse Permalink +1 rate up rate down ReplyI have been a Stones fan since 1963 . This is far from their best effort . Their last two releases have been medicore . I think the boys are out of gas . I know they can still perform but creatively they are on the wrong path . This sounds almost identical to a song on the bigger bang album which was not that great either . I would love to see them return to their roots . I will support these guys as long as I can however . They are after all " The RollingStones "
