However she might have a problem with her music causing a domestic assault in Jacksonville, Florida earlier this week.
According to Jacksonville television station WJXT, a 24-year old man named Allen Blair Casey was arrested by police on Sunday evening for assaulting his 33-year-old boyfriend Todd Fletcher, hitting him in the face with a plate. It's unclear if the plate in question was little. Or jagged.
When police arrived Fletcher had a large cut on his face. The reason? Casey was annoyed that his boyfriend was listening to Alanis.
"That's all that motherfucker listens to," Casey said according to a police report.
A witness told Jacksonville Police she heard a dispute taking place. When she looked out she saw Casey hitting Fletcher in the face. Casey later confessed he hit Fletcher when police questioned him at a nearby park.
The Calgary Herald added that both Blair and Fletcher were using amphetamines or methamphetamines while Blair has been charged with domestic battery causing bodily harm.
Morissette didn't mention the incident via Twitter, Facebook or her official site. An Oct. 13 Facebook post had her discussing spirituality and self-discovery. "Revelation: so important to know how we are impacting people (so we can keep our social grace alive!)," she wrote. "ps: grace, of any kind, is awesome. :)"
Perhaps Mr. Blair took the impact message too literally. That or he misinterpreted the lyrics to Morissette's song "Knees of My Bees" from her 2004 So-Called Chaos album. The lyric goes: "You are a sliver of god on a platter who walks what he talks and who cops when he's lied."
Morissette, who played Toronto earlier this week while touring behind her recently released Havoc and Bright Lights, continues her North American tour with shows this weekend in Philadelphia and New York. A handful of European dates will follow with Morissette confirmed to play Tel Aviv, Israel on Dec. 3.
