Dirty Projectors, 'While You're Here' -- A Tribute to TV on the Radio's Gerard Smith

Dirty Projectors' latest album, the brilliant Swing Lo Magellan, is getting an accompanying EP. According to Pitchfork, About to Die will be released Nov. 6 and will feature a few new carefully crafted tunes.

Today, the band released "While You're Here," a symphonic and touching track dedicated to the late Gerard Smith of TV on the Radio.

"Hey, here's a song I wrote on the day of Gerard Smith's wake in BK 2 summers ago," Dirty Projectors' lead singer Dave Longstreth recently tweeted. "This song is for him. Miss u Gerry!"

Smith was the bassist for TV on the Radio. He succumbed to lung cancer in 2011, and was mourned by much of the New York music scene. "While You're Here" is a very poignant tribute, and a great gesture from Longstreth. Check it out below.
