Highlight: "'The Fold' was the first song I wrote after [borrowing] the trailer," vocalist Blake Cowan tells Spinner. "It was project before there was any project -- just an attempt to encapsulate a thought that had been nagging me. I couldn't articulate the feeling well enough in the journals I been writing or in the drawings I'd done and I was hounded with the insatiable need to properly express it and get it out of me. The song seemed to answer the need. It was this feeling that I was growing but shrinking at the same time-because as I had been growing into this more adult awareness, shirking the child egotism and immortality I had grown up with, I realized more and more how insignificant and small and fleeting I was. The more I grew in consciousness, the smaller a thing I became.

"The lyrics I wrote could only do so much to address the complex thing I was feeling-this awe and fear and longing and lack of meaning. It was in the melodies and the harmonies that I felt I finally really got at the core of it and in turn, that sort of opened me up to all these other questions and emotions I needed to face."
