Ellie Goulding, Skrillex Break Up

After nine months of dating, The Sun reports that electronic music's darling couple Ellie Goulding and Skrillex (aka Sonny Moore) have called it quits. The couple reportedly broke up due to long-distance issues as Goulding lives and works in London and Moore lives in America.

Although the couple originally connected when Goulding was sought out to record vocals on a few Skrillex songs, their shared tastes in music wasn't enough to create a lasting intercontinental romance. In the past, Ellie said she wanted to make a whole album with her boyfriend, but their schedules made it impossible.

"I think in an ideal world we'd love to make a whole record together ... but it just so happens that we're both ridiculously busy. When it comes to music, it honestly is really professional. Honestly," Ellie told the AP earlier this year.

But now it looks like that's a collaboration that will never happen. A source close to the couple said though it's sad, the two just can't make it work.

"A source said: 'It's really sad, they were really good for each other. They just couldn't make it work. They both have successful careers and live in different countries.'"
